IMAGE GALLERY: First-Ever Science Night at Hemenway Elementary

FRAMINGHAM, MA - It was a night of inquiry, scientific discovery, and fun for Hemenway Elementary students at the school’s first-ever Family Science Night.
Hemenway Elementary’s PTO hosted the free event on Friday night, Feb. 26.

The event was coordinated by PTO Co-President Christine Chipolone, and hosted by Chipolone and Jennifer Tengtrakool.
Parent volunteer coaches worked to prepared and run six separate experiments for students to participate in, said Chipolone.

The experiments included: Building Bridges, Wind Energy, Catapult, Float or Not, Earthquakes, and Codes.
* Building Bridges: Catalin Enache, Angelo Tsekrekas
* Earthquakes: David Dionisio, Harshal Mulay
* Float or Not: Ceit Zweil, Kristin Laird
* Wind Energy: Eleni & George Voyiatzis
* Codes: Dina Soliman, Elina Zislin
* Catapult: Kerry Dunne, Adam Steiner
These experiments involved the scientific method and learning about different areas of science.
Each student scientist was given a science journal to make predictions, take notes, record theories, and results, explained Chipolone.
Student scientists rotated thru the experiments throughout the evening.
