FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham brewery Jack's Abbey was voted the best brewery in New England during a recent Oktoberfest celebration held at all Ninety-Nine Restaurants in Massachusetts and New York — and the hometown brewery even beat out giants like Harpoon and Samuel Adams.

For the Oktoberfest celebration held Sept. 21 to Oct. 6, Ninety-Nine Restaurants served four local beers: Jack's Abbey's Copper Legend, Two Roads' Ok2berFest, Harpoon's Horseshoe Ale Series 005, and Samuel Adams OctoberFest.

Diners tasted the beers in a flight, and then voted on their favorites. Jack's Abbey was crowned the "best" beer in New England on Oct. 16, according to Ninety-Nine Restaurants.
