'Joaquin' Cancels Framingham's OctoberFEST

Organizers of the fall festival on Farm Pond, OctoberFEST announced Wednesday that the outdoor festival would be cancelled due to what was then Tropical Storm Joaquin and now is Hurricane Joaquin.

“After much deliberation, the organizers for OctoberFEST decided to cancel this Sunday’s event. With extreme weather looming, we feel that potential storm winds and rain are too serious a risk for injury and damages,“ wrote the Framingham Downtown Renaissance organization on its Facebook page Wednesday.

“We want to thank our amazing volunteers, and especially our new festival partners, MWRTA.”
