Kits To Replace In-Person Coronavirus Tests In Framingham
The walk-up testing site at St. Tarcisius will effectively shut down this week ahead of the final June 30 closure.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — The free walk-up coronavirus testing site at St. Tarcisius in Framingham will effectively close on Friday, instead switching to offer take-home tests to residents.
The site will close for good on June 30 with coronavirus rates on the decline. The switch to take-home tests is due to low numbers of people using the St. Tarcisius site to get tested.
City officials reported there were still 90 active coronavirus cases in Framingham as of Wednesday, down sharply from the hundreds of active cases just one month ago.

Framingham first got a free testing site in August, and several versions have been open over the intervening months. A drive-up site at 170 Maple St. will remain open. Pharmacies in the area also offer tests, according to the state Department of Public Health.
The city's emergency food hotline will also shut down on Friday.

The St. Tarcisius site will be open during these hours for take-home tests:
- June 18 — 8 a.m. to noon
- June 21, 24 — 3 to 7 p.m.
- June 25 — 8 a.m. to noon
- June 28 — 3 to 7 p.m.
- June 29 — 8 a.m. to noon
- June 30 — 8 a.m. to noon
