Lady Tigers Claw To Victory Over Flyers 73.5-26.5
Defending League Champion Ashley Wilson won the hurdles event for Flyers, and qualified for the state meet, returning from an ACL injury.

The Framingham Flyers were no match for the Newton North Tigers on the track Thursday night.
The girls indoor track team lost to the 5-time champions 73.5 to 26.5
But there were several highlights for Flyers Head Coach Chris Collins, but none bigger than the return of hurdler Ashley Wilson.

“She returned to the hurdles and looked like the defending league champion, even after tearing her ACL this past spring,” said Collins.
Wilson, a junior, won the hurdles and qualified for the state meet with a time of 9.23 seconds.

“One of my proudest moments ever coaching was meeting her after that race tonight,” said Collins. “I knew she was a little unsure of things the past few weeks, but she worked through it and she came back slowly and she did it right.”
Her time, according to athletic.net was the 16th fastest in the state, said Collins.
“Simply put, she is awesome” said Collins.
Other highlights was Zoie Cater, Olivia Rothenburg, and Hilda Kusi, all who qualified for the state meet.
Carter finished second in the 300 with a time of 43.44 seconds.
Senior captain Rothenburg won the 55 dash in 7.64 seconds. It was a season personal best for her, said Collins.
Senior captain Kusi finished second in the dash, with a state qualifying time of 7.76 seconds.
The Flyers finished second and third in the shot put event. Senior Sarah Lucien was second with senior Ayana Mckay third.
Freshman Laura Walkup was tied for third in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet, 7-inches.
Senior Ellen Burton finished third in the mile for the Flyers with a time of 5;46.74. “It was a personal record” said Collins, who added “she is having a superb season.”
