Local Love Stories: Loving In The Present

"After many years of broken relationships feeling like I wouldn't never find my person, I finally have and couldn't be any happier."

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to share their love stories.

Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or the thought of red and pink decorations makes you want to puke, we’ve got a hunch everyone could use some happy news this month. And what’s happier than a love story?

We asked Patch readers on Facebook to share their local love stories — how they met, where it all went down, and what’s kept them together. Here’s the story of two Framingham locals whose friendship turned into love.

Oh God where are should I begin?

Dave and I met 15 years ago. He and I were friends and always were friends. I never looked at him in a romantic way. It was last year in early February that my feelings towards him begin to become romantic, so I wanted to give him something on Valentine's Day. I wasn't sure what to do so I had my friends give him a box of candy hearts. You know the little ones that have things on them like "be mine," "I love you" and "kiss me"?

The following week Dave came up to me and thanked me for being his secret admirer. He smiled, and it was just so awkward he walked away. A few moments later I saw Dave with a pen in his hand writing something down on a piece of paper. He looked at me and walked over. I was feeling sick to my stomach because I knew he was coming over to hand me his number and I was terrified.

He came over sat down beside me and said to me simply ONLY IF YOU WANT TO.

A week later we went on our first date on February 20, 2016. We were going to go to the Ashland Ale House restaurant, but it was too crowded so instead we had a simple date at Dairy Queen. It was so much fun. He had a sandwich, and I had a salad. It was just a fun date, and here we are almost a year later still together.

After many years of broken relationships feeling like I wouldn't never find my person, I finally have and couldn't be any happier. Davis 51 and I'm 39, so there is a little age difference, but hey love is love.

Dave and I like to do a lot of things when it comes to the outdoors. We are really into sightseeing and nature. We go to this place in Sudbury where we watch the sunsets. It's a place where it's so beautiful and so romantic and it doesn't cost a dime to go.

I'm extremely happy and I can't wait to see where the future could bring us. We live for the moment, a day at a time. We don't put jack into the future or live in the past. We stay in the present. I simply love Dave.
