FRAMINGHAM, MA — Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito visited Framingham on Monday night, stopping to meet with local business owners, including the owner of a pharmacy that has been distributing coronavirus vaccines.

The Shrewsbury Republican stopped to speak with MetroWest Pharmacy owner Shivang Patel about efforts to get shots in arms. Patel and Nicole Messier Doak launched a vaccine hotline earlier in 2021 to get vaccines to eligible residents, and have recently expanded the effort to include walk-up clinics. The pharmacy is also offering individual vaccine appointments.

Polito also visited Bella Costa Ristorante with Framingham Councilors Janet Leombruno and Michael Cannon. The Baker administration recently announced plans to roll back coronavirus restrictions: by the end of May, up to 200 people will be allowed to gather indoors, effectively allowing most local restaurants to open completely. Baker will also end a requirement that wineries, breweries and bars have to serve food with alcohol.
