Marian Mainstagers Win 4 Theatre Awards

Marian High's theatre students competed in the preliminary round of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild's state drama festival.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Marian Mainstagers competed in the preliminary round of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s state drama festival on Saturday morning at Framingham High.

The Marian High School theatre troupe performed The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.

Unfortunately, the Marian Mainstagers did not earn a spot in the semifinal round. Only three out of the eight schools that performed at Framingham High Saturday moved on to the next round in March.

Marian High did win four awards.

  • Stage manager award: Kate Brady and Carolyn Sistrand
  • Acting award: Fionna Scamby
  • Set Design award: Frank Damata, Robert Ianarilli, Nick Antonellis and Sofia Antonellis
  • Lighting award: Sara Dilbarian and Jennifer Gittins

There were 55 students in the cast and crew of the production.
