McAuliffe Charter Announces Trimester One Awards

The Christa McAuliffe Charter School is located in Framingham.

The following is a press release from the Christa McAuliffe Charter School. It is published as received.

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, the entire McAuliffe community came together for our monthly community meeting. We celebrated our scholars who earned all Meetings on their Trimester 1 HOWLs (Habits of Work and Learning). Each of these scholars received a Trimester 1 HOWLs award to recognize them for their hard work during the first third of the year.

McAuliffe’s Executive Director, Kristin Harrison said, “Scholars can take control over their own character development! They are in charge of themselves and can take charge of their character by building skills that lead them to demonstrate respect and responsibility and to collaborate and persevere.”

“We WANT more of our scholars to receive HOWLs awards and we will be SUPER excited when scholars who didn’t receive an award the first trimester earn one at the end of Trimester 2! This will mean that scholars are taking charge of their character, their learning, and their destiny” said Harrison.

We highly recommend this motivational video about the science of character.
