Montserrat College of Art Celebrates Inauguration of President Kurt T. Steinberg, Ed.D. on Friday, March 29, 2019.

BEVERLY – President Kurt T. Steinberg Ed.D. will reveal his thoughts on Montserrat’s continued climb to success in his inaugural address to the community on Friday, March 29, 2019 during the 10 a.m. installation ceremonies at the Cabot Theatre. The public is welcome to attend.

In his speech, he will note, “Greatness is there for those who work hard and dream big. Montserrat College of Art is on the move and will be leading the revolution. We demand those not ready for the disruption to get out of our way.”

Speakers at the event include F. Javier Cevallos, President of Framingham State University, Kay Sloan, President Emerita, Mass College of Art and Design, a taped message from Governor Charlie Baker, as well as the Keynote Speaker, artist Steve Locke.

Many presidents and delegates from colleges and universities throughout New England are expected to be in attendance to congratulate their colleague.

Dr. Kurt T. Steinberg, Ed.D. is the 8th President of Montserrat College of Art. He began his tenure at the college on July 1, 2018 after 12 years as Executive Vice President and one year as Acting President at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

An authority in collegiate operations, Dr. Steinberg has delivered guest lectures on higher education finance, urban planning, and the Massachusetts political process at Suffolk University, the University of Massachusetts Boston, and many professional higher education conferences. He is a visiting accreditor for the New England Council on Higher Education (NECHE), the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD). He was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce in the fall of 2018.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Syracuse University and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University.
