UPDATED: Natick Woman, 73, Died in Route 135 Fire

The Middlesex District Attorney's office has identified the woman, who firefighters pulled out of the fire Saturday morning.

A Natick woman had died, following a fire in Natick early Saturday morning, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey.

The District Attorney said the woman was Carol McCarthy, 73, of Natick. She was a resident of 211 East Central Street.

A Natick firefighter noticed the fire at the home at 7:38 a.m. said the Ryan, in a statement.

East Central Street is also known Route 135, which was shut down for hours this morning.

Natick Fire sounded a second alarm, while battling the blaze.

Firefighters pulled McCarthy from a second floor bedroom during the fire.

A medical helicopter was requested, and then cancelled, according to the scanner.

McCarthy was transported to MetroWest Medical Center/Leonard Morse in Natick, where she was pronounced dead, said Ryan.
