FRAMINGHAM, MA — A planned closure of Route 30 in Framingham was canceled on Sunday night due to strong storms that hit the region.

But MassDOT has rescheduled the work for Monday night, which means the road will close at 10 p.m. and open around 5 a.m. on Tuesday. Crews will be installing a bridge to connect the Cochituate Rail Trail to Saxonville.

The new $12.4 million portion of the trail will travel south from Saxonville following an old CSX rail line along Lake Cochituate before heading toward downtown Natick just west of Route 27. The trail will also feature a spur near Chrysler Road that will travel to the Natick Mall.
