Parents of ELL Students Attend a Bilingual 'Getting to Know Your School' at Framingham High

The event was an opportunity to strengthen the lines of communication and the connections between the school and the bilingual community.

Framingham High School’s English as a Second Language (ESL)/Bilingual Department welcomed more than 30 parents and family members and a few of their children to Framingham High School on March 2, to learn about the school, the staff, the ESL/Bilingual program, the services and opportunities available for students.

With interpreting services provided by Framingham High colleagues Catilsa Indresano and Violeta Zamora and the assistance of ESL/Bilingual teacher Eli Driscoll, ESL/Bilingual teacher Mark Spillane presented an overview of Framingham High to Spanish and Portuguese speaking parents of recently arrived English Language Learners.

This outreach effort was in response to the extraordinarily large number of students who have enrolled in Framingham High since the start of the school year last August.
