UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Route 9 in Framingham
This is the second pedestrian struck on Route 9 this month in Framingham.

A man was struck by a vehicle and killed on Route 9 in Framingham Wednesday night, according to Framingham Police.

The man, in his mid-20s, was struck while walking in the crosswalk eastbound on Worcester Road, said Lt. Stephen Cronin.
His name and address has not been released, as of midnight January 21.

The man was struck by a Nissan maxima, and the driver stayed on the scene, said Cronin.
Cronin said he did not have details on the driver, around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Scanner reports earlier had the man who died in “traumatic arrest” on the scene.
The crash happened at Route 9 and Prospect Street at 7:49 p.m., said Lt. Cronin.
Route 9 was closed eastbound near that intersection, said Cronin. Traffic was being diverted down Main Street through the Warren Oaks neighborhood and brought back on to Route 9, via Oaks Road. The section of Route 9 was closed for more than 3 hours.
The Massachusetts State Police reconstruction team and Framingham Police are investigating.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s office was called in.
The driver of the Nissan was being questioned at the scene. No citations have been issued and no charges have been filed, said Lt. Cronin just after 8:30 p.m.
This is the second pedestrian struck on Route 9 this month.
On January 4, a man was struck trying to cross Route 9 near California Avenue. He survived.
