UPDATED: Saint Bridget School Using Measure of Academic Progress (MAPS) Testing
The Framingham-based school scored above the national percentile in both reading and math in grades K-8.

The following is a press release from Saint Bridget School in Framingham
Saint Bridget School initiated its inaugural MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) Testing as required by the Archdiocese of Boston in October 2015. All students in Kindergarten through grade 8 took the computerized MAP testing.
The main purpose of the MAP testing is to provide information for instruction (formative) not for accountability (summative).

MAP is adaptive, meaning that the difficulty of questions changes based on whether the student can answer grade level questions correctly. The more questions a student answers correctly, the harder the questions become and the more questions they answer incorrectly, the easier they become.
The results are available at the close of the testing window which allows our teachers to use these results to pinpoint individual student’s strengths and areas of need so that they can adapt the focus and intensity of instruction to meet these needs, as well as identify appropriate learning activities that will facilitate academic growth for individual students.
Saint Bridget School is pleased to report that each grade level tested in October performed above both the district average (Archdiocese of Boston) and the NWEA norm group of students tested across the nation as exemplified by the following representative sample.

In Grades 1, 5, and 9 the national percentage range is 61 percent.
- At grade 1 at Saint Bridget students scored 88 percent in math and 83 percent in reading.
- At grade 5, students scored 75 percent in math and 94 percent in reading.
- At grade 8, students scored 86 percent in math and 82 percent in reading.
Saint Bridget’s Fall MAP Assessment helped to establish a baseline for individual students as to where they are currently learning.
There will be two additional rounds of testing, one beginning the last week of January and the final session will take place in the late Spring. All of the results are uploaded to our Parent Portal so they have easy access.
We are thrilled that this was such an easy transition for our staff and students, due in large part to the tremendous technology upgrades and additions we have made in the past several years.
Saint Bridget School in Framingham is blessed with a full computer lab and a Chromebook mobile lab enabling entire classes of students, Kindergarten through grade 8, to test simultaneously.
As a result, testing was completed in a timely fashion with the least amount of disruption to our academic schedule.
