There were more than a dozen bidders, according to one Town Meeting member who attended the auction.

Silton Glass, at 618 Waverly Street, opened in Framingham in the 1930s. The company moved to a new location in Ashland a few years ago. The Town of Framingham foreclosed on the property in 2014, for non-payment of taxes for more than 5 years.

The property auctioned off was 0.93 acres and was auctioned “as is.” The property is on the corner of Mellen Street and Route 135 near the Walgreens.

The parking lot between the bakery and Silton Glass was not part of the auction. It is owned by a bank, due to a lack of payment.
