SLIDESHOW: Falcons Slide Past Rams 4-0

The Framingham State men's hockey team is now 4-14-1 on the season.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Framingham State University men’s ice hockey team dropped a MASCAC matchup with Fitchburg State by a score of 4-0 on Thursday evening at Loring Arena.

With the win the Falcons improve to 9-10-1, while the Rams fall to 4-14-1 (3-9-1 Conference.)

The Falcons opened up scoring in the first five minutes when John Celli scored the game’s first goal with assists coming from Ryan Connolly and Max Lorenzen

It took almost 40 minutes for either team to score again but the Falcons netted two quick goals early in the third to push their lead to 3-0. Cameron Snyder and Jon Johannesson scored unassisted goals within two minutes of each other early in the 3rd. Mike Fretz found the back of the net just about halfway through the 3rd stanza to reach the final margin.

Charles Jakobsson, who hails from Sweeden, made 34 saves in the shutout win for the Falcons.

Adam Calabrese turned away 25 shots in the setback for the Rams.

Neither team was able to take advantage on special teams. The Rams were 0-for-5 while the Falcons failed to convert on their 4 attempts.

The Rams return to the ice on Saturday, Feb. 6, when they host Worcester State.
