Small-Brown Sprints To Victory in Dash in 7.77 Seconds
Freshmen and sophomores on the Framingham High girls indoors track team competed in the annual Walter "Ziggy" Janiak track meet Saturday.

Freshman Leche Small-Brown won the 55-meter dash event at the annual Walter “Ziggy” Janiak track meet at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School on Saturday. Her winning time was 7.77 seconds.
The annual track meet for freshmen and sophomores is named after a Naval Veteran, who was the first superintendent of that school.
More than 20 teams competed yesterday, in the indoor track meet, including the Flyers.

Sophomore Zoie Carter finished second in the 300-meter event for Framingham in 45.37 seconds. Freshman teammate Saisha Small-brown finished third in 46.15 seconds.
Sophomore Michelle Hom finished fourth in the hurdles in 10.27 seconds.

Sophomore Naimh White finished fourth in the 1,000-meter event in 3:37.47 minutes. Teammate Eluisa Mendes finished sixth in 3:38.82 seconds.
Freshman Macey McEnaney finished 6th in the mile n 6:2040 minutes for the Flyers.
Freshman Laura Walkup leaped to 6th place in the high jump at 4-feet, 4-inches.
Next up for the Flyers indoor track team is the Bay State League meet on Wednesday, said head coach Chris Collins.
“For many of the younger Flyers this was their last indoor meet this season, but the performances were excellent,” said Collins.
