Thanksgiving Forecast: Fog, Wind, Rain On The Table

FRAMINGHAM, MA — If Thanksgiving isn't a good enough excuse to stay indoors and relax, this year's holiday forecast definitely is. The National Weather Service is predicting a pretty gloomy day.

The biggest weather factor for Thanksgiving appears to be wind. Gusts will approach 40 MPH, and that means possible downed limbs and power outages — bad news if you're in the middle of cooking.

The fog and rain will be on the lighter side. Watch for patchy fog before 8 a.m., and there's just a 40 percent chance of rain across much of the region. Black Friday shoppers will get a better deal. It'll be a chilly, but sunny.

MetroWest

Thanksgiving Day: A chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Patchy fog between 7am and 8am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Black Friday: Sunny, with a high near 39. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Worcester

Thanksgiving Day: A chance of showers, mainly before 8am. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Black Friday: Sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
