And Then There Were 5 ... Without Power In Framingham

The city is down to a handful of those without power, and it should be back soon - just in time to prep for another trying weather event.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Just in time to prep for another storm that will possibly bring heavy snow on Tuesday night, the five remaining households without power should have it back by the end of Sunday.

As of 7:16 p.m., of the 30,550 Eversource customers in Framingham, five were sitting in the dark.

"Eversource has advised our Emergency Operations Team that power should be restored to the remaining customers this evening," announced the city in a statement. "Framingham’s Emergency Operations Team is preparing for tomorrow’s impeding storm, which is predicted to bring heavy snow during the overnight hours and the potential for hazardous travel conditions."

In a statement, the city reminded residents that the Emergency Operations Team has a direct line of communication with state, federal, voluntary and private resources during an emergency or disaster. The City of Framingham’s Emergency Operations Team consists of the Police, Fire, Public Works, Facilities, Schools, Public Health and the Medical Reserve Corp. for a unified response to emergency situations.

“Over the past 96 hours our Emergency Operations Team has done an incredible job of maintaining the safety of our community. We have been in constant contact and collaboration throughout the storm,” said Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer in a statement. “We are consistently monitoring the situation and addressing issues as they arise,” said Deputy Chief Steven Trask.
