FRAMINGHAM, MA — Massachusetts State Police have put out a call seeking more Toys For Tots donations after seeing supplies run low. State police have been holding a holiday Toys For Tots drive for nearly 40 years.

"There have been a lot of donations so far, however, we are hearing that distribution sites across the state are running low," state police tweeted on Friday morning.

State police are accepting donations of non-violent toys for kids from toddlers to age 14. The annual toy drive began on Nov. 14 and ends on Dec. 13. Toys For Tots was founded by the U.S. Marines, and some 40,000 Marines participate in donation drives each year, according to the nonprofit.
