1. It's tax-free weekend, so spend away and save at minimum 6.25 percent, though many stores are offering other incentives.
2. Help a child who couldn't otherwise afford a haircut for the new school year. The Hair Cuttery is donating a haircut for every one purchased this month.
3. Take time to hit the theater this weekend. Amazing Things is performing "The Dining Room," Aug. 9, 10 and 11. Friday and Saturday, at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m.
