In honor of National Donut Day, Framingham Patch wants to know what your favorite doughnut flavor is.
Today is National Donut Day, something that is celebrated on the first Friday of June every year after being established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who had served donuts to soldiers in WWI, according to the Boston Globe.
Here in Framingham you you have more than a handful of Dunkin' Donuts locations to choose from. Participating Dunkin' Donuts will be giving away a free donut with the purchase of a beverage today while supplies lasts.
It's fair to say that much has changed about the doughnut since the first National Donut Day 75 years ago. No longer are the choices limited when it comes to flavors. In fact, the variety in flavors is virtually endless.
