On Friday, Winter Storm Lexi left more than 8 inches of snow and caused a miserable morning commute for some. It also during the height of the storm left 10 percent of Framingham, or about 3,000 customers without power. The heavy, wet snow downed tree limbs and wires.

Sunday morning, the National Weather Service in Boston issued a winter storm watch for Framingham, and MetroWest, from 8 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The storm could leave another 4 to 8 inches of snow in Framingham.

The National Weather Service in Boston said the storm is still “uncertain” at the moment.

“The amount of ocean-effect enhanced snow banding remains uncertain. A slight westward shift in the track of an ocean storm could increase snow amounts while a track father east could reduce amounts,” said the Service.

But the timing is again expected to be just like Friday’s storm, to start with the morning commute.

The storm is expected to start Monday morning, Feb. 8 and continue Monday afternoon into Monday night.

Visibility with this storm may be reduced at times to one-half mile or less, as wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour are predicted.

The National Weather Service issues a “watch” when more than 6 inches of snow is predicted within a 12 hour period.
