Batten Down the Hatches: Wind Advisory Sunday in Malden

MALDEN, MA - Near record high temperatures, intense, sustained wind gusts and heavy rain are in the forecast on Sunday in the region.

It’s too bad the weather will likely be too wet and wild to be outside on Sunday afternoon, because temperatures will reach the mid-50s.

A wind advisory will be in effect for the region until 7 Sunday night, according to meteorologists.

In addition, a high wind warning will be in effect Until 7 Sunday night for eastern Essex County, Cape and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 3i to 39 miles per hour, or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph, according to the National Weather Service. There is the possibility of power outages, and driving could be difficult.The timing will be mainly Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening.

Showers will likely end by midnight, and much colder temperatures will arrive early Monday.
