Boston's Faces Nightclub Reborn As Malden Brewery, Restaurant
Nearly 30 years after the Boston nightclub shut down, a new generation of Martignettis is bringing the storied name back.

MALDEN, MA — Nearly 30 years after Faces Nightclub closed in Boston, the next generation of Martignettis has brought it back as a brewery and restaurant in Malden. Dan, Joe and Anthony Martignetti, who previously ran craft beer bar and bowling alley Lanes & Games in Cambridge, added siblings Bob and Julie to the mix, making Faces Brewing Co. a true family affair.
The family spent two years restoring the former First National Bank building in Malden Center, debuting Faces as a beer garden last month. The brewery recently held a grand opening ceremony for the space, which includes many elements of the former bank in its design.
Ezra Gold, formerly of Alden & Harlow and Waypoint, has been named head chef, crafting a menu of American pub food that pairs with the in-house brews. Home brewer and yeast geneticist Eddie Ducharme, a childhood friend of the Martignettis, and Danielle Coons, formerly of Geary's and Lone Pine in Portland, ME, will oversee the brewing.
