Classes at Cheverus School and Malden Catholic were canceled Friday morning, prompting a lot of sad faces at the city's open public and charter schools - no surprise there.Â
But a number of parents got to griping as well, with many upset about the conditions of the roads and the absence of a number of teachers at Malden High School.

"Shame on the City for not closing schools," mother Kelly Ilebode wrote on our Facebook wall. "People are fish tailing up and down the hills."
"So stupid," Lauren Weiss wrote. "Bebe (School) is five blocks away from (closed) Medford School, yet they are open?"

"I'm all for kids going to school but what a very poor decision for Malden officials." Nicole Jones wrote. "I'm a bus driverr and cant even make it up four kids' streets"
At least one parent was more stoic in the face adversity:
"My teenager is at MHS and I'm at work," Jennifer Stepaniak wrote. "My teenager is at MHS and I'm at work. I figure she can work on projects and read and get caught up.
