City Rededicates Linden Victory Delta in Malden

The city held a rededication ceremony at Linden Victory Delta in August.

The city held a rededication ceremony at Linden Victory Delta last month, according to a city press statement.

Linden Victory Delta was dedicated after World War II to honor all of Malden's veterans. In 2002, the city dedicated a pair of monuments onsite to Malden’s 36 fallen heroes—17 of which were soldiers that died during the Korean War and 19 in the Vietnam Wars.

“The sacrifice made by our fallen heroes of all wars is why we are gathered here today at the Linden Victory Delta… to honor the memory of our fallen warriors who gave their lives for their country so that we could live in peace and freedom,” said Kevin Jarvis, director of Veterans Services, during the Aug. 15 ceremony.

“Today we remember all of Malden’s fallen heroes and we are eternally grateful to all those who have sacrificed in service to our Country,” said Mayor Christenson during the ceremony. “I thank Councillor (Judith) Bucci for spearheading this effort and I’m grateful to the Malden Redevelopment Authority for overseeing this restoration project.”
