CONVERSE LODGE A.F. & A.M of MALDEN INSTALLS OFFICERS

INSTALLATION of OFFICERS for 2020-2021

Press Release Oct 12, 2020

Malden, MA

Converse Lodge A.F. & A.M. began its 134th Masonic year with our installation on October 12, 2020, with the new Worshipful Master, Stephen C. Butland of Saugus. Stephen is an active community supporter, especially with Rainbow and DeMolay activities. Our Malden Lodge now meets in Wakefield on the second Monday of each month. Our Lodge is named after it’s founder, Elisha Slade Converse, the first mayor of Malden and president of Boston Rubber Shoe Company. Albert Henry Davenport petitioned to open the first meeting of Converse Lodge Ancient Fee and Accepted Masons at the Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday, Oct 3, 1886. Shown in the group picture are those attending the installation, all wearing masks, (briefly gathered closer than the mandatory social distance during the pandemic).
