Dense Fog Advisory Until Monday Night For Malden

Drivers should use caution Monday afternoon and during the Monday evening commute. The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for Eastern Massachusetts that will be in effect until 7 p.m. Monday night.

Areas of fog will develop this afternoon, particularly in the late afternoon and early evening hours. Drivers should be aware visibility will be one-quarter mile, or less at times.

A dense fog advisory is issued when dense fog will reduce visibility to one-quarter mile or less for at least three hours. The dense fog will result in hazardous driving conditions, and motorists are advised to slow down as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range, according to meteorologists.

A warm front will lift across Southern New England on Monday afternoon and evening, followed by a cold front late Monday night.

Widespread showers will accompany the front tonight, then windy and unseasonably mild weather will follow Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. High pressure is expected to build into the region on Wednesday, and another storm system is expected to bring rain on Thursday to the region.
