Everett Investigating Church Vandalism As Hate Crime
"This was not an accident but a hate crime against Zion Ministries and their community," Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria said.
EVERETT, MA — Police in Everett are investigating vandalism at a local church as a hate crime.
The vandalism was found at the Zion Baptist Church early Thursday, police said.
"This was not an accident but a hate crime against Zion Ministries and their community," Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria wrote in a Facebook statement. "As Mayor, I'm repulsed and distraught that someone would intentionally vandalize a religious organization in our community. There is absolutely no room for any hate in Everett."

DeMaria added that he is confident the Everett Police Department will find those responsible for the vandalism.
