Everett Man Accused of Driving Drunk Allegedly Hits Four Cars, Snapped a Pole Before Slamming Into a Home

No one hurt in the crash.

MALDEN, MA – A 53-year-old Everett man pleaded not guilty in Malden District Court on Friday to operating under the influence - second offense after he was accused of crashing into an Everett home, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

Jose Pineda, 43, of Everett, had his bail set at $500 cash after being charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Judge Cesar Archilla also ordered the defendant to not drive without a valid license, to surrender his passport, to consume no alcohol and to be subject to random screens.

The next scheduled hearing in this case is June 20.

On May 4, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Everett Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Irving Street in Everett.

Upon arrival authorities observed a motor vehicle that had allegedly crashed into four cars causing serious damage, struck a telephone pole, snapping the pole in half and leaving the pole held up by electrical lines, before crashing into a wall of a multi-family home.

The multi-family home was evacuated as a result.

The defendant was located by police after allegedly exiting his car following the crash.

Authorities determined that the defendant was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and the defendant was placed under arrest.
