MALDEN, MA – Ferryway School Principal Abdel Sepulveda has announced he will resign immediately from his role.

Sepulveda served as principal at the school since July 2017 after a career as a Spanish teacher in Malden Public Schools, which began in 2007.

According to the Malden Public Schools website, Sepulveda is stepping down for personal reasons.

“It has been a privilege to serve the Ferryway School community as principal over the past four years,” said Sepulveda in a prepared statement. “In that time, I have gotten to know so many of our families, students, staff and community members. Stepping down has been a difficult decision for me. I will always be grateful for the time I have spent here and take great pride in everything we have accomplished together.”

Assistant Michael Ciampa will be the acting principal for the remainder of the school year.
