Five Things: A Concert, Farmers Market and PAYT Petition

1. Thunderstorms possible today: Tuesday will be overcast with a chance of  60 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid-80s.

2. Farmers market this afternoon: Don't forget the city's summer farmers market is held from 3 to 6:30 p.m.  every Tuesday through Sept. 24, right next to city hall.

3. Family movie night at library: Take advantage of the library's air conditioning 6 p.m. Tuesday night in the Library's Maccario Room. There's free food, too!

4. Malden Summer Concert Series: NOTE: Due to rain, the concert will now be held at the Malden Senior Center instead.

Resident Howie Newman will be joined by his son Keith and special guest Nate Mattingly from 6-8 p.m Wednesday at City Hall Plaza.

5. "Malden First" petition: Residents opposed to the city's "Pay As You Throw" system are collecting signatures outside of the Charles Street Stop & Shop to replace the program with their own idea. You can read the petition here and join the discussion on our announcement boards.
