Hospice Worker Accused of Selling Heroin at Her Patients' Homes in Malden

A hospice worker accused of selling heroin at her patients' homes in Malden pleaded not guilty Thursday in Malden District Court.

Police told WHDH-TV that Maria Johnson Kelly sold several bags of the class A drug to undercover detectives.

"The Malden Police drug detectives have been doing an investigation on this defendant for a length of time," prosecuting attorney Anna Evans told the news station. "They’ve observed her distribute heroin from patients' homes."

While executing a search at Kelly's, police recovered $2,000, multiple bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

She was released on $500 bail, the report adds.
