'Large-Scale' Meth Dealer Receives 8-10 Years

Officials said a "large-scale methamphetamine dealer in the Malden area" was sentenced to eight to ten years in prison Tuesday, after pleading guilty to meth distribution and ammunition charges.
Victor Cao, 45, faced two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of ammunition as an armed career criminal and operation of a motor vehicle after suspension.
He'll also be required to serve five years probation and undergo drug treatment.

“This defendant distributed methamphetamine, a highly addictive and dangerous drug,” State Attorney General Martha Coakley said in a statement. “This result ensures that the defendant is taken off our streets and serves time in prison.”
The charges stem from a joint investigation by Coakley's office and the US attorney's office beginning in 2008.

Cao was arrested in 2010.
