MALDEN, MA — Distribution of the new trash and recycling bins for the city's Pay as You Throw choice program began Monday.

Households will receive one blue recycling cart that accepts all types of recyclables – no more separating – and a black trash cart for Pay as You Throw bags. Trash tags for the black carts will be available starting in July, and residents will have the option of continuing to use the Pay as You Throw bags or paying a flat fee for the entire year.

It will take about four weeks for all carts to be delivered throughout Malden.
