Malden Snowstorm: Snow Emergency Ends

Here's what to know about the snowstorm in Malden.

MALDEN, MA — Malden's snow emergency has ended as of 8 a.m. Tuesday. Residents parked in emergency lots will have to remove their cars by 11 a.m.

Commercial and apartment buildings must have their sidewalks clear within 12 hours of the end of the snow emergency, and homeowners must do the same within 24 hours.

There will be no in-person or remote learning in Malden Tuesday, due to high winds and potential power outages. The Malden Public Schools had a remote learning day Monday.

Snow emergency parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. For residents on streets with a parking ban who are without access to off-street parking, the following locations are available to park free of charge and available after 10 a.m. Monday:

  • Early Learning Center
  • Beebe School
  • Forestdale School
  • Ferryway School
  • Linden School
  • Salemwood School
  • CBD Parking Garage
  • Jackson Street Parking Garage

Vehicles in these lots must be removed two hours after the snow emergency ends.

City Services:

- Trash and recycling will be collected as normal on Monday

- Malden Public Schools will be on a remote learning day Monday.

- The free breakfast and lunch program will be available for Malden students at Forestdale, Beebe, Ferryway, Salemwood, Linden and Malden High School every weekday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. From Feb. 2-5, the free breakfast and lunch will be distributed at the Bowdoin Apartments park from 10:30-11:45 a.m. and the rotary on Newland Street from 11:50 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
