Malden Fall Fest, Bread of Life Walk/Run Kick Off This Weekend

Here is a sampling of five Malden area activities and events going on from Oct. 5-6:

1. The Malden Fall Fest is slated for 12-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Fellsmere Pond at Route 60, Fellsway East and Savin Street, according to the city website. From noon to 3 p.m. there will be a Kids Fun Zone and other types of activities and entertainment going on through the fest.

2. The Bread of Life 21st annual Walk for Bread & 5K Fun Run runs from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at Pine Banks Park, according to an event posting on Melrose Patch.

3. Get in the fall spirit at the Horace Mann Pumpkin Festival, which kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Horace Mann Elementary School in Melrose, according to an event posting on Melrose Patch. Pumpkins will be on sale and a variety of activities are planned for the festival including a haunted house and donut-eating contest, to name a few.

4. Scope out open houses going on in Malden.

5. Visit yard sales in the Malden region this weekend.
