Malden Installing Dozens Of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The city is encouraging residents to buy electric vehicles in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

MALDEN, MA — The city will install 22 electric vehicle charging stations at five locations across Malden. The city's Energy Efficiency Commission worked with National Grid and Public Facilities Director Eric Rubin to obtain incentives to install the stations, which will provide residents and visitors with ample opportunities to charge their vehicles.

Charging stations are at the following locations:

  • Early Learning Center, 257 Mountain Avenue
  • DPW, 356 Commercial Street
  • Malden High School, 77 Salem Street
  • Jackson Street Garage, 180 Exchange Street
  • CBD Garage, 170 Centre Street

Malden is encouraging residents to buy electric vehicles through this initiative. The stations will be networked to enable potential users to find the locations on a smartphone app.
