Malden Man Snuck Into Plane's Cargo Hold At Logan Airport: MSP
Sergiu Parfeni, 31, is accused of sneaking through an emergency exit, running onto the tarmac and climbing into a plane's cargo hold.
MALDEN, MA — A Malden man charged in connection with a security breach at Logan International Airport did not appear in court Tuesday. Sergiu Parfeni, 31, is being held in a mental health facility, WCVB reported. He accused of sneaking through an emergency exit, running onto the tarmac and climbing into a plane's cargo hold Monday, State Police said.
State Police troopers responded to a breach in Terminal C around 12:30 p.m. Parfeni had already been removed from the plane by JetBlue ground operations workers.
Parfeni was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct and interfering with aircraft operation. Police swept the plane and did not find any hazardous or suspicious materials. Authorities told media outlets they do not believe Parfeni acted with terrorist intent.
