Malden Native Returns to Head Baseball Program Again

Longtime Malden baseball coach and hometown boy Steve Freker is returning to again take over the baseball program.

Freker coached Malden High for a number of years before moving on to Malden Catholic, where he won a state championship. Freker, who was inducted last year into the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, is coming off a three-year stint at Saugus. He is replacing Kevin Carpenito at Malden High.
