Malden Plants Trees to Celebrate Arbor Day

Residents came out to Fellsmere Pond this weekend to partake in the city's first celebration of the 141-year-old holiday.

Did you celebrate Arbor Day this weekend? 

Ward 3 City Councillor John Matheson and Malden's Community Outreach Coordinator Karen Hayes organized the city's first official celebration of the 141-year-old holiday this Saturday, founded to encourage the planting of trees. 

The celebration coincided with the 120-year anniversary of the park, as well as a number of restorations that included new trees, shrubs and flowers.
