Malden Reads Movie Night at the Malden Public Library

Join Us For A Free Movie & Discussion of Fahrenheit 451

Join us on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 6:00-8:30pm at Malden Public Library’s Malden Reads second film screening for the 2020 book selection, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury. We will be showing the 1966 François Truffaut film based on the book Fahrenheit 451.

In an oppressive, dystopian future, books are banned and burned. Reading is forbidden. Fireman Guy Montag’s job is to destroy and burn all of the books he finds and to help maintain the totalitarian government’s agenda of promoting censorship and crushing intellectual freedom. When Montag meets Clarisse, a young schoolteacher, he begins to question everything he’s ever known.

A discussion of this year’s Malden Reads book selection, Fahrenheit 451, will follow the movie. This year Fahrenheit 451 is part of the NEA’s Big Read. Movie times are approximate. This film is free and open to the public and is accessible. Please call the Malden Public Library at 781-324-0218 for more information. Not Rated (113 min.)
