Malden Schools Reach Timeline For Hybrid Learning

The School Committee and Joint Labor Management Committee reached an agreement to start hybrid learning for some younger grades in January.

MALDEN, MA — The Malden School Committee and Joint Labor Management Committee agreed on a timeline for in-person learning after the holiday recess.

January 4 -January 15

Remote instruction weeks for all high needs students and staff who are currently engaged in in-person learning.

January 19

High needs staff and students return to in-person learning

January 25

PreK through Grade 2 staff, and staff who service PreK through Grade 2 students return to buildings in-person to prepare for hybrid in-person learning.

February 1

Optional (families choose) hybrid in-person learning begins for students in PreK through grade 2

Superintendent John Oteri said more details will be sent out before Jan. 15.

"We are grateful for your patience, cooperation, and partnership," Oteri said in a statement. "We hope that you have a healthy, restful holiday season and break, and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year."
