Malden Shots Fired Incidents Not Connected, Police Say

Police responded to their second report of shots fired in a week Wednesday night, which they believe stemmed from an assault.

MALDEN, MA — Officers responded to their second report of shots fired in a week Wednesday night, but police say they do not believe the two incidents are random.

Police arrested a Malden man last Thursday following a report of shots fired off Summer Street, Chief Kevin Molis said. A gun was seized during the arrest.

Molis said a second incident was reported on Pleasant Street Wednesday night, while the suspect in the first shooting was in custody. Investigators believe shots were fired during an assault involving at least two people.
