Malden Street Fair Set For June 26
Malden Center will be transformed into an open air street fair, featuring live music, gaming challenges, specialty foods, artists and more.

MALDEN, MA — Malden's outdoor festival series continues Saturday, June 26 with an open air street fair in Malden Center. The festival will feature live music, gaming challenges, specialty food markets, artist stations and cultural performances.
"These festivals have a little bit of fun for everyone," organizer Kevin Duffy said. "Whether it be live music, great food, a 10-minute escape room challenge, an opportunity to play Giant Jenga or a Giant Connect Four game, Malden Center is the place to be between 12 noon and 6 p.m. every other Saturday throughout the months of June, July and August."
The festival series is one way the city is helping businesses recover from the pandemic.

"To help our businesses rebound after a devastating year, these open air events will give our residents an opportunity to re-explore Malden," Mayor Gary Christenson said.
The fair will feature an appearance by local resident and author Michael Cloherty, who will sell and sign copies of his new book, "Abel Bodied: Murder at the Malden Bank." The book tells the story of the first murder during a bank robbery in the United States, which happened in Malden and resulted in the death of Frank Converse, the 17-year-old son of the city's first mayor.
