Malden Woman Accused Of Stabbing Her Mom To Death

Sharlyn Savain, 24, has been arrested in connection with the death of her mother, Maria Luxama, 58, of Malden.

A Malden woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of her mother, according to a press release from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say that at around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, police responded to a pair of 9-1-1 calls from 236/238 Main St. Both revolved around the incident involving Sharlyn Savain, 24, her mother, Maria Luxama, 58, and the landlord of the building.

Luxama was discovered suffering from stab wounds, and died after a transport to Whidden Hospital.

“While this is still an active investigation, we have information which indicates the victim was stabbed by her daughter,” said District Attorney Marian Ryan, in the statement.

”It appears this is another unfortunate incident of an adult child involved in a violent episode with a parent.”

“This appears to be a terrible act of domestic violence, and was not a random incident. We are working very closely with our partners in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to conduct a full and thorough investigation,” said Malden Police Chief Kevin Molis.

“On behalf of the entire community, my heartfelt condolences go out to the victim’s family.”
