Man Faces Eight Counts of Drug Dealing, Weapons Charges

Police arrested Joshua Andrews, 27, of 14 Salem Place, for eight alleged drug-dealing and weapons charges.

A Malden man faces eight separate counts of weapons and drug distribution charges after police served a search warrant on his Salem Place home Thursday afternoon.

Police said Joshua Andrews, 27, allegedly had a loaded, stolen automatic firearm with three loaded clips, numerous pills, marijuana, and packaging materials.

Joshua Andrews, 27, was charged with alleged possession of a firearm by a felon, drug possession with intent to distribute class D (percocet), drug possession with intent to distrubte class B (marijuana), unlawful possession of ammunition, improper storage of a firearm, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a non-large capacity firearm and unlawful possession of a non-large capacity feeding device.

"This is another example of the intense and dedicated effort of the Malden Police Drug Unit to investigate, and intercept local criminal drug element," Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb wrote in an email. "Net result, another gun off the street"
