MALDEN, MA — A community-led effort to help neighbors in need kicked off this holiday season, and Malden is turning to residents for help.
"Merry Malden" is a collaborative effort to spread cheer and help Maldonians in a year of extraordinary need. Co-facilitated by Malden Neighbors Helping Neighbors, the office of Mayor Gary Christenson, city councilors, the Senior Center, Malden Teen Enrichment Center, Zonta Club of Malden and others, this new holiday drive aims to match families in need of help with community members ready to pitch in and give.
It starts this week and will continue as long as there is a need for food, clothing, gift cards and toys.

Due to COVID-19, the program is primarily asking for donations of gift cards for all ages to stores such as Target, Amazon, and Stop & Shop. Requests for clothing and toys will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
All donations of hats, gloves, and clothing must be brand new with tags on. Socks, sweatpants, and sweatshirts in kids' sizes S-XL are especially needed.
